"NO ONE BETTER"
Wow. Thank you to Donna Laake for sharing her Wise Women story Thursday, March 10th! And thank you to all the 7th and 8th grade ladies who rocked the house by finding your seats quickly and by showing respect and listening skills while our guest spoke. It's not easy to speak from the heart in front of a big group, but all of our speakers have done that and hopefully everyone will remember something helpful from each event.
What will you remember from what Donna said??? One of the things that stuck with me is what her grandma said to her the day when Donna was scared to go to school because she was so embarrassed by her dad's car accident. Do you remember what her wise grandma said?:
"There's no one better than you on earth. And you are no better than anyone on earth."

WISE ABOVE!
You've heard the phrase "rise above it", right? That means if someone is trying to drag you down, don't go there. If someone puts us down, says negative things that may or may not be true, don't feel the need to do the same thing back. Don't let someone steal your power. You have the power to be wise and wise (rise) above it. When you ignore negativity, it usually goes away. Just say to yourself, "Yea, whatever. Moving on."
Yesterday I was talking with a wise person, a mentor, about a bad habit I'm trying to break. That person said to me, "You're better than that. Remind yourself I'm better than that." What simple advice, but you know what? It's helping. I am better than that. You are too! Wise Above.
