PREPARE FOR SCHOOL

With the 2011-2012 school year just days away, I though it was important to talk about all the great things that school has to offer, but also some of the negative things that happen there.

School has a lot of great ways to entertain you after it's hours are up. It provides clubs to do with your friends, or sports that you love. These are just some of the great ways to be active at our school. Our After School Program Coordinator has put forth a lot of effort and time to plan all of our clubs, and to get sponsors to chaperone them. The Sports Director has also put forth a lot of effort to make sure all of the teams are playing by the rules, and showing Norwood PRIDE.

If you want to get out of the house after school, I suggest you try a club or two that catches your attention. There are lots of different choices to try. And, since the sports season changes from sport to sport, clubs are a great way to keep active while not playing Volleyball, Football, etc.

In school there are many things that can happen, such as bullies, homework, etc. Bullies:  they pick on people for their own security. They think it’s fun to pick on the littlest kid, or the smartest one. But, they do this because maybe they want to be smart but don't think they could be, or maybe that little kid has true friends, and the bully has ones who follow him so they won't get bullied themselves.

Friends are another thing. Don't be afraid to go to different people and be a friend when they need one. It’s always good to have too many friends. And yes, there are gonna be those people that aren't your true friend, but once that is revealed, be their friend anyway! Being nice to a person who you don't like isn’t being two-faced; it's called acting mature. It's something everyone should be every once in a while.

These are just some of the many things that happen before and after school, but they're all things that can change your life. Until school begins, just start getting prepared. We are all wise, so let’s prove it and have a wonderful school year!
